Amazon Prime Video is one of the most popular content streaming services that’s used by millions.
Despite being a paid subscription service, users will start seeing ads on movies and TV shows they watch on Amazon Prime Video. The ads will begin to appear on Prime Video as early as January 29, 2024.
Amazon has clearly stated that the ads will be limited and in no way impact the content-watching experience.
In an email, sent to Amazon Prime subscribers, Amazon added a reason for including ads i.e.,
“This will allow us to continue investing in compelling content and keep increasing that investment over a long period of time.
We aim to have meaningfully fewer ads than linear TV and other streaming TV providers.”
If you are an active Amazon Prime subscriber and want to get rid of the limited ads then you can pay an additional $2.99 a month.
It’s worth noting that the price of Amazon Prime Video will remain the same at $14.99 a month or $139 per year.
After the introduction of ads, on Amazon Prime Video, the only mainstream content streaming service that’s ad-free is Apple TV Plus.
